Shiva Sutra Study Group on Tantra Illuminated tantrailluminated.org
The Shiva Sutras are part of the Shaiva Tantra Non-Dual Tradition of Northern India where Yogic principles such as Chakras, Kundalini, and Shaktipat originate.
Dearest Friends,
I would like to know if you are interested. I am facilitating a 3-month study group for the “ Shiva Sutras” on the Shaiva Tantra website Tantra Illuminated beginning In April. You must be a paying member of the website to partake ( there are a free intro and scholarships available on the site, the fee is $49 a month)
The Shiva Sutra, a mystical and divine text, was revealed to and transcribed by Vasugupta, who lived between 875 and 925 CE in Kashmir in Northern India. This sacred scripture holds great significance in Kashmir Shaivism or Shaiva Tantra, serving as a key source of spiritual wisdom and guidance for practitioners of this ancient yogic tradition.
In the West, we often hear about the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, which come from a more Vedic lineage and are very early. The Shiva Sutras are part of the Shaiva Tantra Non-Dual Tradition of Northern India, where Yogic principals such as Chakras, Kundalini, and Shaktipat come from. We will study the translation of Sanskrit scholar Christopher Hareesh Wallis on his website TantraIlluminated.org (check out the offerings on this website; there is a free intro). There are three other dynamic Study Groups available at this time, too.
